Choose Brad Rasmussen, for the love of Lake County
I had the pleasure of meeting many fine folks when I was the managing editor at the Lake County Record-Bee. There were numerous opportunities to examine and witness the character traits of truly
caring and knowledgeable leaders. Brad Rasmussen stands out as the type of leader who will bring the best to Lake County.
He brings a wealth of experience to the forefront. In my seven-plus years in Lake County, I found Brad to be honest, transparent and forthcoming at all times. He was unfalteringly accessible, fair and
reasonable. He is the true picture of grace and action under pressure. He was also one of the hardest working people I have ever met.
As his website states, “Brad's life has been dedicated to ensure that public safety encompasses a multi-faceted approach, involving vigilant law enforcement to maintain order, while fostering trust and collaborating within communities. Brad fully supports all fire prevention and disaster preparedness efforts, equipping regions to proactively mitigate risks and safeguard lives and property through effective planning and education.”
In my opinion, Brad has earned the trust of the community he serves. He is mindful of the challenges that face Lake County and comes armed with real world solutions based on his extensive research and
involvement in county affairs.
Brad brings institutional knowledge. He was born and raised in rural Northern California. His father was a wildland firefighter and served in law enforcement. When Brad was in high school, he was actively
engaged in student government. He also participated in the Youth Conservation Corps, where his work included maintaining wilderness trails and enhancing public recreational spaces, particularly focusing on improving the habitats for fish in distant mountain streams – such an urgent factor for those living around Clear Lake, the oldest lake in North America.
As a law enforcement professional, I knew him to be dedicated, respectful, welcoming, inclusive and tirelessly driven to serve others. He is also a compassionate pioneer in problem-solving. I knew him to
master difficult situations and provide outcomes that best benefitted the community. Brad has been consistently ahead of curve in making updated police policy and training changes that reflect the best
practices in the industry and provide for the betterment of the people in the community.
As a newsperson, I am a natural skeptic, but it is without hesitation or reservation that I fully endorse Brad Rasmussen as your next District 4 Supervisor—for the best interests and love of Lake County.
